Your Role
We are seeking a dynamic Vice President, Head of Corporate Accounting (m/f/d) to lead the preparation and consolidation of the Symrise Group's financial statements. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the Group's financial reporting is accurate, timely, and fully compliant with all relevant regulations.
As a core member of the global Finance Leadership Team, you will work closely with internal stakeholders across Controlling, Tax, Legal, and Treasury, as well as our regional Finance teams. Besides, you will serve as the primary contact for auditors, tax advisors, and authorities and deliver essential insights to our Executive Board, Supervisory Board, investors, and regulators.
Main responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the preparation and analysis of quarterly and annual financial reports in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Coordinate the preparation of financial statements for national and international subsidiaries within the Symrise Group
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits, working closely with auditors to ensure compliance with all audit requirements
- Act as competence center for the implementation of new accounting regulations as well as for purchase price allocations and valuations for company acquisitions and divestments
- Drive continuous optimization of accounting and reporting processes, internal control systems as well as financial reporting efficiency and effectiveness
- Manage and develop a team of accounting experts through coaching, training and performance management
- Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced qualification as auditor, tax consultant or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
- At least 10 years of experience in a senior role in group accounting or auditing, ideally in an international corporate environment
- Experience in supporting M&A activities including due diligence processes
- In-depth knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS and GAAP) as well as experience in tax accounting and with ERP systems (e.g. SAP)
- Professional proficiency in written and spoken English and German; knowledge of French is highly desirable
- Strong business partnering with a sense for trustful exchange with the segments, divisions and functional areas
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in an international setting
- Strategic thinker with a strong analytical mindset and a pragmatic, hands-on leadership style
- Comfortable navigating change and championing innovation in financial processes and tools
- Strong personal integrity, goal orientation, and the ability to set clear priorities in a dynamic environment
- High degree of discretion and organizational sensitivity in managing cross-functional collaboration
- Strong goal and solution orientation as well as the ability to prioritize in a highly dynamic business environment
